demonstrate their professionalism, passion to succeed and ability to rise to the challenge of such a demanding tour. This run of dates more than doubled their Facebook, YouTube and Twitter followers, and saw them earn rave reviews in both local and

“I don’t see any weak points to this EP. Rockin’ songs served up by one hell of a band! I highly recommend this band and record to everyone.” THE DEDICATED ROCKER SOCIETY
“The huge raft of superb young Hard Rock in England right now has swelled by one more.
Absolutely brilliant!” MAXIMUM VOLUME
“To sum up then; Western
Sand are the BEST support band I’ve seen all year and better than some headliners
too. Their new EP is great and I look forward to seeing and hearing from these guys again soon.” MY GLOBAL MIND
“The bluesy Southern Rock-tinged Hampshire
based quartet are studiously carving
out a niche as the UK’s answer to Black Stone Cherry,
and frontman Tyler Hains appears to have it all. As adept with his guitar as he is roaring his way through modern classics
“Cut You Down To Size” and
“Dark Horse”, the singer/songwriter is a genuine find.” THE JOURNAL / RUSHONROCK
On the back of the “All Hell Breaks Loose” tour, Western Sand capitalised on their enhanced
popularity by going out on the road independently and revisiting cities played on that run. By doing this they began to see a fan base emerge; which resulted in promising ticket sales at their headline
shows.
Western Sand released a second EP in November
2014 entitled “Cut
You Down To Size”. A sharper and more aggressive
EP than its predecessor, it clearly displays the impressive
evolution in both musicianship and composition. Central Press, headed by Claire Lloyd would join forces with Western Sand at this time, and resulted in nationwide
exposure for the EP and a successful video for the first single “Dark Horse”. The
band performed at HardRock Hell VIII the same month and their set was quickly recognised as one of the festival’s
highlights.
In December 2014, Western Sand embarked on a UK tour as the main support
to Michael Schenker. This came from a personal recommendation of Adam Parsons
at Siren Artist Management Inc., who manages: Thin Lizzy, Europe and Stiff Little Fingers amongst other acts.
Western Sand increased their growing fan base and media response in 2015. They are rapidly proving
themselves to be one of the best and most exciting unsigned bands in the country.
Their slot at the Legends of Rock Festival in Great Yarmouth in October attracted
one of the largest crowds of the entire weekend
and the new music video for the anthemic “Black WaterResolution” received thousands
of views in its first week of release.
The aforementioned performance resulted in the offer to join acts such as Wishbone Ash and Ian Hunter on the bill at the Giants of Rock Festival in Minehead January 2016. Their storming
set on the “Introducing Stage” saw the band get voted by the public as the best new band of the weekend and as such they got to return in 2017 to play on the “Main Stage”.
In the summer of 2016, Western Sand was invited to open for Inglorious on their UK tour. This proved to be the bands most important, well-received and successful support tour to date. They gained a large amount of new fans, saw an impressive
surge in sales of both EPs and merchandise and garnered rave reviews in the press.
Their performance at The Stables
in Milton Keynes was the first time in the history of the venue that the opening act received a standing ovation. Furthermore the bands performance at The Cluny in Newcastle
was so memorable and effective
that the venue demanded Western Sand to return in 2017 as the headliner!
“It’s rare to see a support
band that can engage the crowd and they were going to be a hard act to follow.” BUZZ MAGAZINE
“Welcome to the Badlands is a real highlight,
and Nothing to Lose is shot through with all the determination of a band who knows it’s ready for some kind
of breakthrough.” MAXIMUM VOLUME MUSIC
2017 started with the band returning
to the SOLD OUT Giants of Rock Festival in January. Western Sand performed to several hundred
people as they triumphantly opened the “Main Stage”. Just days later, due to an impressive demand, they returned
to The Cluny in Newcastleto play their first ever headline show in this city. The band was over three hundred and fifty miles from home and sold over 100 tickets for the show! During
the same month, Western Sand played headline
shows in both Wolverhampton and Evesham also, which sold over 50 and 100 tickets respectively.
In February, Western Sand was invited to perform at Planet Rock Radio’s Winter’s
End Festival.
The band played a searing set that caught the attention
of many of the station’s
DJ’s, who were full of praise and compliments over the bands’ music and performance. On the back of this show, Planet Rock added “Black Water Resolution”to their rotation
for several weeks
Between shows throughout the year, Western Sand have been working on and adding the final touches to their much-anticipated debut album.
In November of 2017 they have been asked to return to play at Hard Rock Hell, and just days later they will play a very special homecoming show in Southampton. This show is being recorded,
and tracks from this performance will make up a forthcoming Live EP to be released
in very early 2018. The EP will be released
in two formats: a Digital Download and a Strictly “Limited
Edition” CD. The Live EP will give the Wester Sand fans a new and exciting product to enjoy whilst the band complete the album
Late 2019 Western sand
released their debut album ‘Welcome to the Badlands. The album went on to sell
over 500 copies in the first two months just before the covid pandemic hit the
world.
In august 2021 Western
sand came back from the pandemic with their first appearance at a sold out
Nozfest in Southampton.
“The gritty
gravelly vocals of tyler hains are just exquisite and clearly this is a band
that should be laying to much biggervenues and much bigger crowds ….. tyler
hains is a frontman who can not only control a crowd in front of him, he can
sing, scream and play some mean guitar, a man with real star quality. – Metal Planet Music
“They defiantly got
the biggest reaction of the day including sing along participation in going
down and covering Mississippi queen is easy” – Devils Gate Music
