Formed in 2013 by school friends Josh Vaughan (Vocals, Guitar) and Tom Riley (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Bournemouth quartet CAPULUS deliver a high-octane, high-energy brand of melodic rock that inspires a feeling of escapism from the mundane, transporting listener to an exciting world of grand, towering musicianship akin to the likes of Alter Bridge, Foo Fighters and Muse.

Despite being a somewhat exhausted phrase thrown around the world of music, each member of Capulus can quite comfortably lay claim to the fact that music is, was and always will be their “way of life”. Having sung on stages as part of a Barbershop/close harmony choir in front of thousands from the age of 8, Vaughan is a natural performer whose love of rock and metal evolved from an introduction to Meatloaf and Alice Cooper by his father. Tom Riley, on the other hand, was raised around the upbeat sound of Ska-punk before evolving his tastes towards the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, Nirvana, Metallica, Megadeth and Led Zeppelin upon meeting and befriending Vaughan during his teenage years.

Forming the rhythm section of the band - and both hailing from Sardinia - Alex Incani (Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals) and Giacomo Vacca (Drums) have respectively performed numerous instruments as part of a number of bands spanning a variety of genres; From energetic rock to cool acoustic, upbeat ska and even a traditional marching band.

With such a broad spectrum of musical influence and history, the sound created by the members of Capulus is best imagined as an intense driving experience, hurtling down a winding road at high speed, pushed forward by the high-powered engine of epic, stadium-quality melodies and a body-rocking rhythm section. Herein lies the core, inner workings of the band’s music, but the finer details of the journey are taken from the band’s lyrics.

Capulus are unequivocal story-tellers, seeking to invoke a variety of emotions painted with both personal experience and observations made of the world around them. This is most evident in their 2020 single release 'Resist', which – along with its rousing cry of rebellion against oppression, came equipped with an excellent Foo Fighters-inspired performance video, shot and produced by the team at HP Music and mastered at Abby Road Studios.

Over the course of the past year and a number of lockdowns, Capulus have been hard at work to writing and recording their debut EP. In short, the EP is has been influenced heavily upon what the life events we have all been through in recent history. The band have taken what they believe to be the next logical step in their sound following the releases of their previous singles since re-forming in Bournemouth. The result of this is hard hitting tracks, each emotionally driven and ambitious
